New Single, MachiNation!

Back by popular demand, a remix of the Deus Ex main theme has been created. Check the music page for “MachiNation”. I hope you enjoy it!

Also, there are still a few of the Limited Edition Earthscape CDs left. Hurry and get yours before they're all gone.

New Single

Thanks again for your support of Earthscape. With over 15,000 plays in two months we’re not doing too badly with unique listeners.

Now, a new single. This piece has been a long time coming and derives from what got my name out there in the first place: Unreal and Deus Ex. For as low as $1 you can be whisked back to these sci fi worlds of wonder. Enjoy a bit of nostalgia and I think this piece should stand decently on its own as a fairly modern electronic work as well.

Earthscape CD Now Available!!

The Earthscape Limited Edition CD is now available in the “Store” section! Only 50 copies available so get yours before they sell out. In two weeks the album will also be available on iTunes and Amazon.com. Watch this space.

Thanks once more to the incomparable Jeanette for setting up the storefront.

Earthscape Is Here!

Earthscape has arrived! Head over to the music page to check it out / purchase. This album definitely took longer than expected, but the results I hope will be well worth it. Coming up next month is a limited edition CD release with separate track voice introductions (a sort of “behind the scenes” for each song and the album in general), t-shirts and posters.

Also, over the next few days the first 20 Facebook fans will be getting the lead track, “Severn City”, as a bonus. Thanks to you all for supporting me. I hope your 2010 has been a good year so far.

Earthscape Teaser on YouTube

Greetings all. Head to YouTube for an exclusive teaser of Earthscape, it gives a little insight into why it is being made and features a sample of the song “Clan Ross”, the representative song of Scotland. Don’t expect any bagpipes though, Earthscape is a new take on different countries. I hope you enjoy it.

Update

Greetings everyone. I hope you’re having a summer with the least amount of swelter as possible. Here’s what has been happening…

First, Earthscape is in full swing. I have a complete album mapped out with two pieces completed, and one more very close. As with all things it is turning into an effort larger than I originally planned for, but I believe you’ll be pleased with the results. I’m using it to fully exploit my Peter Gabriel inspiration, something I haven’t done since my release of “The Child” about fifteen years ago. I’m also exploring ways to get this music into a visual format, whether it be a video, computer animation, or just a picture to represent it. I think that growing up in the 80s established that music doesn’t have to exist by itself. Even when presented live hundreds of years ago there was opera and ballet, which were the most extensive ways to visually express stories and emotions along with the music. I’d like to go beyond the sound, admittedly because the sound itself is asking me to.

Also, as you can see, I’m trying to market myself a little more, making myself available on different websites and maintaining a Facebook site. We’re at 30 fans and growing, the next goal is 100. If Ozric Tentacles can get almost 5,000, I can do the same. Not much of a comparison, is it? Well… anyway…part of this new effort is the creation of an exclusive CD with artwork by my old friend and colleague Daniel Cook, who is hands down the best artist I know, and possibly the best artist in the video game industry, along with one of its best designers. There will be a run of 100 special edition physical CDs and the rest will be available digitally.

Finally, once Earthscape is complete it will pave the way for Contention, which will be an all out album with vocals and live instrumentation. While I think I promised it in April of this year, it’s best that it get done properly rather than on time. And unlike Duke Nukem Forever, it won’t take seven years to complete, and then not be released after all. ;)

New website launch

Thanks to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Jeanette Brandon, AB.com now has a pretty new face as well as new channels to go to, available in the “Music” section of this site.

Direct buy: You can get music directly from here using Snocap. However, free downloads aren’t available here. Unfortunately, Snocap needs to charge a minimum and if you live outside the US you won't be able to purchase from Snocap. Rediculous I know, but we're working on another solution. In the mean time, if you live outside the US, you can purchase from Band Camp.

Reverb Nation:
Reverb Nation is where I plan to connect with my fans directly along with Facebook. You’ll also find my free downloads here. Anytime a new free download is announced it will be available both here and at Band Camp.

Facebook:
Another fan connection portal. If you don’t feel like logging in as a user on Reverb Nation, just head here.

Band Camp:
High quality (original masters) are available for purchase here for slightly more than the mp3s on Snocap

SoundCloud:
Another place you can find me if you don't like any of the other options

New single: There is a new single entitled "Instinct" on the 'Music' page. You can purchase the mp3 here or go to Band Camp and purchase the high quality version.
